AN appeal for volunteers and donations of toys has been made for a new playgroup starting at Leigh Park Community Centre in September.
The group for 0 to 5-year-olds will run on Fridays from 10th September, from 9.30am to 11am. Sessions will cost £2.50 for an adult and up to three children.
Centre manager Debbie Cole said, “There’s been a need for a group for some time and we’ve had people phoning up and asking for us to put something on here.
“We used to have a children’s centre here and when they opened the Community Project at Eden Vale Road, Wiltshire Council told them to move there.
“We put an appeal out asking for someone who was interested in running a playgroup but nobody responded to that, but then I managed to get a couple of volunteers to help.
“We still need volunteers though and we are also looking for donations of toys and equipment suitable for 0-5 years.”
