A free skate and scooter day is set to take place this month at Penleigh Skate Park on Saturday 24th August from 11am to 2pm, offering a day of excitement and activities for children aged 5 to 16.
The event will feature a range of activities, including a free scooter and skateboarding workshop, demos, music, games, and prizes. Attendees can bring their own boards or scooters, but free equipment hire will also be available. Alongside the skate and scooter activities, a game of dodgeball will be held on Penleigh field, open to boys and girls aged 6 to 13, also from 11am to 2pm.
Westbury Town Council, the event organiser, aims to provide a day of free entertainment for the community. In addition to the main activities, there will be music, bouncy castles, and plenty of fun for everyone with parents welcome.
“It’s really important the town council runs these smaller events around the town as well as the larger Chilli Fest, Soapbox, and Christmas events year-round,” said the town council’s events manager, Ryan Child. “Penleigh is a brilliant event space, and we hope people in the area and in the wider Westbury area come along and enjoy a day of free entertainment!”
