Local solicitors, Pinniger Finch and Co, have appointed a new, experienced family solicitor to join their team.
Amba Chawla will take over from Bill White, a senior partner at the firm who has now taken a well-earned retirement.
Amba has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of family law and has been a partner and director throughout her career. She has vast experience in the private sector, working as a law lecturer and journalist and in management training alongside her legal career.
She has been involved within the charitable sectors of education, women and child welfare, as well as running several community events.
Her legal experience began in criminal law as an advocate in courts across Wiltshire, Bristol and Somerset, before working in the civil law and mediation sector, leading her to a full career in family law.
Amba enjoys working in a conciliatory way where negotiation rather than conflict can prevail.
Amba said, “I have within my short time here, found everyone in Westbury to be so very welcoming, especially the staff in the local shops, who are always smiling whatever the weather. That says a great deal about the community here.
“I want to uphold that spirit and continue to work hard with whatever legal help I can offer.”
Clients have already remarked that Amba has been a steady, knowledgeable and reassuring lead in what can be difficult and sensitive times in a person’s life.
Amba is supported by Emily Smith, who joined the firm in June. Emily is a law graduate and has returned to live in her home town of Westbury, following her time at university.
Pippa Masters, owner and director of Pinniger Finch and Co Limited, said they are delighted that Amba and Emily have joined them with the breadth of experience and knowledge they offer.
Pinniger Finch and Co Limited offers legal advice in all aspects of family law, probate, will writing, powers of attorney, and conveyancing.
