An increase in youth-related anti-social behaviour (ASB) has been reported recently in Westbury town centre.
The Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), which covers Westbury, said they are aware of concerns and are actively addressing the ongoing issues.
A police statement said, “We would encourage residents and local businesses to report anti-social behaviour as it is happening. Real-time reports give officers the best opportunity to attend, identify those involved, and engage with them directly.
“We also kindly ask parents and guardians to take a moment to speak with their children about their whereabouts and activities when they are out in the town centre. These conversations make a meaningful difference in keeping our community safe and respectful for everyone.”
The team says it is continuing to work closely with local schools, youth clubs and partner organisations to support young people and address concerns early.
This increase comes after Inspector Lou Oakley from the Warminster NPT told attendees at a Westbury Area Board meeting earlier this month that youth ASB had previously fallen following engagement with detached youth workers, local schools and youth networks.
The team is now encouraging residents to report any incidents following a recent rise in reports.
“In addition, community reporting remains essential in helping us understand when and where issues are occurring.
“Together, with your support, we can ensure Westbury town centre remains a welcoming and safe place for all.”
