LOCAL runner, Diane Hier, completed her 16th London Marathon on Sunday 28th April, finishing in under three and a half hours.
Diane, who runs for Avon Valley Runners, was one of many representing the club at this year’s London Marathon. Diane finished ninth in her age category, 55-59, and in the top 1,000 for her gender, being the 750th woman to cross the line of 17,729 female entrants.
Diane said, “I completed my 16th London Marathon in a time of 3.22.39. The weather was perfect unlike last year, where it was incredibly hot. I had a fabulous day and I am thrilled with my result. There were many from my running club, Avon Valley Runners, racing and giving us support around the 26-mile route. Virgin Money London Marathon never disappoints!”
