MORE than 30 children took part in a sponsored stay awake on Friday 17th May to celebrate Leighton Dyer’s 11th birthday and to raise money for Asthma UK.
Leighton and his year six classmates from Westbury Leigh Primary School managed to stay awake the entire night, playing games and competing against each other in teams.
Together they raised £559.80 for Asthma UK. Leighton has suffered with asthma from a very young age.
Amey Dyer, Leighton’s mum said, “A few of the children did close their eyes, but were soon woken straight up by anyone who caught them, which was amazing to see as they fully supported each other.
“A massive thank you to all who helped on the night and also to Leigh Park Community Centre who gave us the venue for the night.”
