POPULAR village pub The Duke at Bratton has new owners, and they are looking forward to settling into life in the community.
Rick and Tracey James have already had a busy couple of weeks, with locals already singing the praises of the new menu Rick and Tracey have created.
The couple have a wealth of experience in running pubs and in the catering and beverage industry, and are looking forward to their future in Bratton.
Rick said, “It’s been a busy few weeks for us but so far everything has been great. We know the area quite well having ran a pub in West Lavington some years ago, so moving back here is like coming home; we have been made to feel very welcome.
“We want everyone to know that we do good pub food for reasonable prices and are definitely not a gastro pub, which was one of the rumours circulating.
“We’ve had excellent feedback from customers so far and on Father’s Day, having not advertised at all, we were completely full for Sunday lunch and had lovely comments from everyone.
“As well as serving good food, we are really keen to get involved with the local community. We’ve already been in touch with local charities such as the Royal British Legion. We have both always done a lot of fundraising, so this will continue.
“We like to support local bands and musicians as well so we plan to organise music events and maybe even an open mic night. We think it’s important to showcase local talent, so we have a few ideas to do this.
“We’re looking forward to our time in Bratton and hope to see you soon.”
