A CLEAN up of the White Horse saw volunteers battle the weather to collect over 20 bags of rubbish on Saturday 28th April.
The litter pick was organised by resident Grace Young and Westbury’s community engagement manager, Liam Cripps. Grace goes walking with her dogs most days across the hills and was saddened to see the amount of rubbish, so she organised a group of volunteers to help with the clean up.
Grace said, “The litter pick was a real team effort with over 20 volunteers showing up to lend a hand. Forecasted rain mercifully held off, and no crisp packet was left to linger – we collected a staggering 21 bags of waste.
“A huge thank you to everyone that showed up and the volume collected highlights how necessary this kind of activity is.”
The litter pick was part of the county’s #CleanUpWilts drive and nationwide #GBSpringClean.
