Glasses are being raised at Three Daggers Brewery in Edington, following the brewery’s triumph in the Business Awards 2015, run by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA), to which the brewer belongs.
Three Daggers was named as winner of the Best Pump Clip Award for its hand crafted oak beer pump badges at SIBA’s BeerX celebration of British beer, held in Sheffield.
Chris Clark of the Three Daggers said, “We pride ourselves on the quality and care we put into our badges, so it is wonderful to receive this recognition from our peers and industry experts.
“We learnt quickly that to build a successful brewery, brewing great beers, though of course crucial, wasn’t enough; we had to become good businesspeople as well. We’ve had to learn many of these new skills as we go along, but we’re very proud of the professionalism in everything we do and looking forward to continued success.”
Presenting the awards, SIBA managing director Mike Benner said, “The SIBA Business Awards have been running for 10 years. In that time, the independent brewing sector has expanded hugely and competition increased for a place on the bar or facing in the supermarket.
“Our business awards recognise a raft of business skills and it is a credit to the talent of our members that so many of them submitted strong, compelling entries this year. What SIBA brewers may lack in size, they more than make up for with entrepreneurial flair, professionalism and dedication to their business.”
The Three Daggers brewery was founded two years ago and operates from Edington Farm Shop under Westbury White Horse. Its beers, including its Flagship Daggers Ale ABV 4.1%, are available, not only in The Edington Farm Shop and the Three Daggers pub also on the same site, but in an ever increasing number of local pubs from Salisbury to Bristol and even into London. It has recently started bottling its Daggers Ale and this is now available in local farm shops, restaurants and pubs.
