A WESTBURY cricketer has been selected to captain the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on their tour of Tanzania.
Captain Mike Coles, who plays for Westbury Cricket Club, arrived in Tanzania last week with the 13-man squad for the 11-day tour of Tanzania, which will also include a match in Kenya.
The tour of Tanzania is part of the MCC’s touring programme that aims to increase cricket’s international appeal, as well as assisting national teams in other countries move towards one-day international or even Test status.
Founded in 1787, the MCC is the world’s most active cricket club, the owner of Lord’s cricket ground and the guardian of the laws of the game.
