WESTBURY music festival looks set to be repeated next year, with the organisers hoping to put on something even bigger and better in 2010.
The Rotarians and Lions who organised the event have totalled up the funds raised by the weekend-long series of musical performances and have made a profit, although the final figure is not yet available.
Roy Inwood, a Lions member who was heavily involved in the music festival organisation said, “We all thought it was a great success and financially we came out on the right side and made a profit. I think we are interested in staging it again next year, I certainly am, but of course we will have to go back to various clubs and put it to them. I know that Beverly Jessop at Matravers is eager to get the school’s musicians involved next year.”
“Now that it’s been established, hopefully it will be easier to organise in the future and maybe to get some sponsorship as well. We could always do with some extra help for next time so if anyone would like to come forward I’d be interested to hear from them.”
