A dance teacher from Westbury helped to launch another fundraising initiative on behalf of the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG) on Saturday 30th November.
The BCUSG fundraising committee said, “We were delighted when bubbly Diane Scott, who teaches ballet and tap in Bratton and Trowbridge, agreed to place the first Wish on the “Enchanted Tree” which will be positioned within the Castle Place Shopping Centre in Trowbridge until Christmas Eve.
“Diane was also accompanied by some of the young dance stars from the Morphew School of Dance.
Diane, who finished four months of treatment for breast cancer at Bath’s Royal United Hospital in March 2012, knows only too well the importance of supporting the unit. “I cannot praise the Bath Cancer Unit highly enough, it is a wonderful facility with very supportive staff,” she said.
Currently the BCUSG has raised almost £690,000 towards the £1.2million required to purchase a Positron Scanner for the RUH, which will greatly enhance the diagnosis and treatment planned for local cancer patients.

On the 11th October, Westbury added a further £388 to the appeal with an “Evening of Magic & Mystery” at The Laverton. The Bath Circle of Magicians, which includes local balloon wonder Dave Hickory, did not fail to amaze the audience of both adults and children, with a mix of close up magic and stage performances.
