THE Westbury Swimarium has launched its long-awaited swim lesson programme at a brand-new purpose-built swimming pool in the town.
The Westbury Swimarium has been provided by the Swim School – a high quality, long-established learn-to-swim provider that has been providing swim education for children and adults for over 30 years.
A grand opening will take place on Sunday 6th August 12pm to 1pm where Chloe, a local child, will formally cut the ribbon. Councillors and the Westbury Town Crier will be in attendance plus there will be entertainment from Sour Apple and an ice cream van and everyone is welcome to attend. Everyone who attends will be entered into a prize draw for some exciting swim prizes!
Westbury Swimarium was created by Rick Johnstone and Sarah Harris who have owned and managed nationwide Swim Schools for over 30 years. Rick and Sarah, who are local residents, are both trained schoolteachers and also Swim England tutors. The project was managed by Brendon Jones using local contractors and creating an environmentally friendly pool and building that includes solar panels on the roof.
The Swim School teach groups of up to eight children, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers. Their swim teachers are fully qualified and have as a minimum, a Level 2 swim teacher qualification, enhanced DBS, lifesaving and first aid qualifications.
The Swim School at Westbury Swimarium will be teaching lessons seven days-a-week for a range of abilities starting from the age of two and offering the following; beginner with adult lessons, children’s lessons, adult lessons, aqua fitness, aqua mobility, pre-school swim lessons and primary school swimming.
