ON SUNDAY 8th April a small group of 9 members set out from the Pepperbox National Trust car park, south of Salisbury in misty and damp conditions for an 8-mile walk led by Rob Hearnden through open countryside passing through Whiteparish village.
Views were a little disappointing due to the weather but interesting enough to show what might have been. However what gave pleasure were the signs that at long last, spring was on its way. Most wild flowers were showing willing including wood anemones, celandines, many clumps of primroses, wild daffodils, both dog and scented violets, including some white blooms and even a few brave bluebells. Despite the damp conditions, everyone agreed that it had been an enjoyable day out.
