VICTORY for local campaigners as councillors defer decision.

Opponents to the controversial Westbury incinerator are celebrating after a dramatic Wiltshire Council U-turn.
In a shock decision, the council’s strategic planning committee today agreed to defer the application to take into account new Government guidelines on waste which are currently being drawn up.
Cllr Greenman, chair of the committee, proposed a deferral, based on new information that wasn’t available last June that could be a ‘game changer’.
The vote was carried unanimously with one abstention with the application coming back to the committee at the end of July.
