Pupils at Bratton Primary school were encouraged to break the rules to celebrate national Neurodiversity Week on Friday 31st March.
Pupils were asked to dress in bright colours on the day and broke an array of rules – all to help challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences.
The school said, “We invited students and staff to celebrate Neurodiversity Week, by breaking the rules by coming into school with crazy hair, nail varnish, odd socks, temporary tattoos, squash in their water bottles and in their brightest shoes and clothes!”
The official day links in with Neurodiversity Week which is a worldwide initiative that aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported, by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.
