Volunteers are needed to help kick start one of Wiltshire’s newest community centres.
Leigh Park in Westbury is set to get its very own community centre and needs lots of support from local people to help with everything from fundraising to publicity.
Now the Leigh Park Community Association (LPCA), which is working to improve local facilities, wants to hear from anyone who can help. The LPCA aims to raise the funds for the furnishing, ongoing maintenance and development of the community hall.
The community centre will be built by Persimmon on land adjacent to the shopping complex on Leigh Park. No date has yet been set for the start of work, but it is hoped work could commence later this year.
John Rogers chairman of the LPCA said, “It is great to see the community centre finally happening. We are confident it will be well used by many parts of the community, both in and around Leigh Park.”
“We need volunteers who can help build relations with residents, write newsletters, deliver newsletters or help with grant applications. Whatever your skills, it would be good to hear from you.”
