THE flagpoles in the town have been relocated from the central rotunda to behind the war memorial.
The town council has moved the flags after repeated vandalism last year. The new poles are upright, rather than at an angle, to keep them out of the way of vandals, and will be covered by CCTV.
The Union Jack and flag of St George will be flown, and the French flag will also be flown for a period to mark the visit of the French delegation from Château du Loir, Westbury’s twin town, over the weekend of the royal wedding, as well as the French Market which will visit the Market Place on Saturday 30th April.
The town council has coordinated the relocation of the flagpoles, which has been funded by the Westbury Area Board, Westbury Lions Club, Westbury Branch of the Royal British Legion, and Westbury Town Council.
