THE White Horse Health Centre’s Covid-19 vaccination roll out continues to gather pace.

The health centre has attempted to contact all residents that fall into the top four priority groups for the vaccine, and has now moved on to start vaccinating patients aged 65 and over.

The health centre reports, “Westbury Group Practice and the Avenue Surgery (Warminster) have been working together in vaccinating 7,336  patients with their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination (figures to 31st January 2021); this is around 18.34% of our registered patients.

“We have attempted to call all patients in cohorts 1-4 to arrange their first dose, these patients include: 1. residents in a care home for older adults and their carers; 2. all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers; 3. all those 75 years of age and over; 4. all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals.

“If you fall into any of the above categories and you have not yet booked an appointment, please telephone us to do so.

“You can also use the national booking system which can be accessed online by visiting  www.nhs.uk/conditions /coronavirus-covid-19 or by calling 119.

“The local site for you to book in this way is Shaunaks Pharmacy, who are attached to the health centre, vaccination clinics are ran independently of each other.  If you have booked an appointment at Shaunaks, and you need information or to rearrange, you will need to do this through the national booking system, our reception team does not have any information in regards to this and cannot do this for you.

“We have now started vaccinating the next cohort (5), this is all patients 65 years and over.  Please do not call the practice if you are a patient that is within cohorts 5-9.

“Information about the vaccine itself is available online at either www.gov.uk or www. nhs.uk.

“We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our staff and volunteers who have been working so hard in helping make the running of our clinics so smooth and efficient.

“We do have to redeploy some of our staff, both administration and clinical to help deliver this campaign, this could mean you may have to wait longer when accessing some of our services. Thank you for your understanding.”
